Mayor Pro Tem Mikke Pierson is sworn into office during council reorganization at the top of the Monday, Sept. 23, Malibu City Council meeting. Former Mayor Pro Tem Karen Farrer was elected the next Malibu mayor, taking over for former mayor Jefferson “Zuma Jay” Wagner, whose nine-month term was at an end. The next council reorganization is set to take place around June 2020.
