Board President Victoria Harris explains the variety of food each animal needs while in the animal care unit.

The California Wildlife Center (CWC) held its annual Spring Open House for the public on Sunday. Attendees had a rare opportunity to tour the facility and see the critters that are being cared for, as well as take part in family activities. Wings of Discovery Bird Outreach program brought a variety of birds including Eastern Screech Owls, American Kestrel and a Great Horned Owl to educate the public on the needs of birds. The new marine mammal elephant seal pup rehab facilities were a hit, as people lined the fence to take a look at the beautiful elephant seal pups.

The CWC is in need of a larger facility to care for all the animals that come their way. They are funded entirely by donations and grants. Check www.cawildlife.org for more info.
