“How I Learned to Drive” is a riveting play, superbly performed. It is running for two more weekends at the Malibu Stage Company, just north of Heathercliff Road on Pacific Coast Highway. This is the kind of professional theatre that we usually need to drive into town for, but, lucky for us, it’s playing right here in our own backyard.
I’ve been to the theatre the past two weekends, and every person who leaves this production is buzzing afterwards. It’s a provocative, button-pushing gem.
How many times do we wish that we had something to do in Malibu during the evenings but just don’t want to make the long drive to hear music or see theater or find some other artistically stimulating outlet. Treat yourself to this Pulitzer Prize winning play, running for two more weekends on Fridays and Saturdays at 8 p.m., and Sundays at 5 p.m. Keep it local. Be loyal to your soil.
