The City of Agoura is planning a massive upzoning and roundabout for the intersection of Kanan and Agoura Rd, a route many people in Malibu use to commute to the 101 freeway. The City is planning 578,000 square feet of commercial development (larger than the Oaks Mall) plus 293 residences in and around that intersection, all on environmentally sensitive land. The City of Agoura’s next meeting regarding the “Agoura Village Plan,” as they call it, is June 14 at 7 p.m. Residents of Malibu and your city officials should call, fax, e-mail, write and attend the meeting of the Agoura City Council to tell them this plan is a very bad idea, especially for Malibu. Please do it! Otherwise this plan looks like it will go through.
