After 27 years with California State Parks, the last 11 in the Malibu area, first as Sector Superintendent and then District Superintendent, I will be leaving to take a new position as Chief Deputy Director with the Los Angeles County Department of Parks and Recreation.
It has been a pleasure to serve the citizens of Malibu and the people of California in helping to preserve and protect some of California’s most valued cultural and natural resources. I treasure the friendships that I have established in the community, especially with the many volunteers at the Historic Adamson House and Malibu Creek, Leo Carrillo and Point Mugu State Parks.
Thanks to all the people who have supported the mission of California State Parks and have extended many courtesies and kindnesses to me over the years. I leave you in the good hands of Hayden Sohm, Acting District Superintendent.
