Young surfer Taro Watanabe won his first-ever victory for the boys category during the National Scholastic Surfing Association Open at Huntington State Beach. A seasonal champion for the 12 & under Gold Coast Menehune Division, Watanabe is preparing for the regional championship in May and national championships in June.
