The California Supreme Court ordered the case of Marine Forests Society v. California Coastal Commission onto its calendar and set the next court date on April 6 at 2 p.m. in Los Angeles. The case, which challenges the constitutionality of the method by which the Legislature gets to appoint two-thirds of the commission, has been in limbo for almost two years. Informed court watchers say that typically the Supreme Court does not set a case for oral argument until it has a majority for a decision.
