Stanley R. Schoen passed away on Oct. 15, in his home in Santa Monica. He was born in New York City on Oct. 8, 1922. Schoen earned his law degree at New York University where he was president of the Moot Court and editor of the Law Review. He also earned an accounting degree at NYU.Â
Schoen had a varied career, mostly in the field of finance. After practicing law for several years, he joined Olympic Television in Long Island, serving as treasurer. When the firm was sold to Lear Siegler in Santa Monica, Schoen moved to California and became treasurer of Lear Siegler. After his retirement from Lear Siegler, he became a professor of law ethics at California State University, Dominguez Hills.Â
Schoen was on the board of many companies, notably National Technical Systems in Thousand Oaks. He was also on the board of Vista Hill Hospital in San Diego, serving as president for many years. Active in many charities, Schoen was recently honored at a dinner held by the Prostate Cancer Institute.Â
Schoen is survived by his wife, Juliet; two sons, Mitchell and Russell; daughter-in-law, Vania; and grandson, Davi.Â
