The 505-foot Navy destroyer John Paul Jones completed its last exercises before deploying to the Persian Gulf until at least June next year, Malibu resident Mary Stanley said after the visiting the ship in San Diego last week. The ship and its 270-person crew anchored off Surfrider Beach in June for the Navy’s first-ever port of call in Malibu.
