Letter: Lagoon Ugly No Longer

The recent project in Malibu Lagoon has worked wonders. Since 1983, Malibu Lagoon’s west channels had been a stinky mess, an eyesore and an embarrassment to California State Parks.

Suzanne Goode and Mark Abramson led an effort to replace stinky dead mud pits with a thriving native ecosystem. They have succeeded magnificently. The best way to see the thriving ecological beauty happening now in Malibu Lagoon is to go there and watch nature at work. If you are unable to travel there, you can find underwater videos at www.ecomalibu.org/video-page1.html
