Malibu Presbyterian Church recently sent more than 75 people, including many Malibu High School and Pepperdine University students, to build a church outside Tecate, Mexico in Baja California. Pastor Ramon Chavez and members of the congregation worked together to complete the project.

As volunteers worked away in Mexico, construction workers installed drywall and electrical wiring in the new Malibu Presbyterian sanctuary. Currently running ahead of schedule, the rebuilt church is expected to open in January.

Fire years ago this month, Malibu Presbyterian Church was destroyed in a 2007 Malibu Canyon brush fire. Since then, members have been working to rebuild the church.
