The county resumed parking enforcement, citations and towing on Sunday, Nov. 15.
It had temporarily suspended these fines and punishments when the pandemic hit last spring. “Now, with winter storm season approaching, LA County needs to keep streets clean and clear,” the county’s public works department wrote in a prepared statement on Thursday, Nov. 12.
Citations for posted street sweeping time violations; blocked emergency access such as driveways and fire hydrants; expired registrations and vehicles that appear abandoned also resumed on Nov. 15.
“Notices on red-tagged vehicles may result in towing and impounding of tagged vehicles within 72 hours,” the county said.
