With Malibu resident Jordan Dorn playing goalkeeper, the Valley United Blast won the Far West Regional championship in Honolulu last month for U15 Gold Cup soccer.
The Blast went 6-0 in the tournament, defeating the best teams from the western states. In the semifinals they defeated local powerhouse West Coast, 4-1, and then dominated Arsenal in the final, 4-0. The team will travel to Arkansas later this month to compete for the national championship, The Blast scored 24 goals and held the opposition to only 2.
Valley United Blast Red will play as a Premier Real So Cal team in the Coast Soccer League next year.
