The May 1 demonstrations illuminated for everyone to see the severe problems that come from years and years of lax border security. I am more optimistic now that real change can take place in securing our borders without amnesty or a guest worker program. The solution is very simple: pick up your phone and call Senator Feinstein and Senator Boxer and tell them that you are a legal citizen and that you are against amnesty or a guest worker program and that you want the border secured now. That is the only real course of action and it has a very good chance of succeeding. But you have to do it now. It is time for the real “sleeping giant” – the 280 million legal citizens – to take action.
