Gidget documentary screening to raise money for Surfrider Foundation

Kathy Kohner Zuckerman, also known as Gidget, is an iconic Malibu figure.

A documentary about the real person behind the Gidget book, movie and television series will screen at Duke’s on Friday as a fundraiser for the West L.A/Malibu Surfrider Foundation. The one-hour document, titled “Accidental Icon: The Real Gidget Story” is narrated by CSI star Jorja Fox. Brian L. Gillogly is the writer, director and producer.

The film includes interviews with prominent actors, writers and directors, many of whom brought Gidget to the big and small screens.

The screenings will take place at 5:30 p.m., 7:30 p.m. and 9 p.m. Following the second screening, there will be a question and answer session with the filmmaker and Zuckerman.
