“School’s fun. I’m glad to see all my friends again. I was mostly up north all summer so it was really good to see them again. I like school. My favorite subject is math probably cause the teacher is really nice.”
Malibu Times Multimedia Director Julie Ellerton hit the streets this week to ask Malibu kids, “How does it feel to be back in school?”
“I don’t like it. It should be a six-month summer. I would sleep. I do like the teaching staff at Malibu High. My favorite subject is probably math or art.”
“I have so many friends that I never really got to see them during the summer so I’m so glad I got to see them on the first day of school, and I can not wait to graduate from OLM. My favorite subject at school is math and I have a really nice teacher named Miss Armour. She always makes things fun and creative.”
“It’s nice to see everyone but basically, it’s like really hard to get up in the morning and get back in the routine, like to get up at six in the morning and start getting ready. And school’s not my favorite thing, but you have to do it.”
“It feels really awesome to be back in school. I like everything about it!”
“It’s a new school for me. I went to Malibu High School (MHS) the previous year, and Ace (Charter High School) is really interesting. It’s a much smaller school than MHS — only 200 students … Actually, I’m really enjoy-ing school right now.”
“I am very excited. My favorite subject is math and I really like it so far. It’s really different than my other subjects. I’m really happy to be back at school!”
