John Daniel “Jack” Foley lost his battle with cancer on Aug. 1, 2016 at the age of 77. He died in his home in Malibu, Calif. surrounded by loved ones.
Jack is survived by his wife Josephine Foley, his two daughters, Taren and Sile, and his grandchildren, Taylor, Myles, Sage and Enzo. He is also survived by his brother and sister, Thomas Foley and Janie Mercardo.
Jack was born on July 14, 1939 in Redwood City, California to Pauline Anderson Daniel Foley. He graduated from California State University Long Beach with a degree in Recreation Administration and later earned his doctorate from Brigham Young University. He worked for the City of Culver City and later became a professor at Cal State Northridge.
“Jack loved helping people, especially those in need. Some of his favorite post retirement projects that he spent countless hours helping were People for Parks and Cal State Northridge Baseball,” a loved one said.
A celebration of life is scheduled for on Aug. 13, 2016 at his home for family and friends.
