The City Council swore in newly elected councilmembers Sharon Barovsky and Andrew Stern Tuesday night and a new mayor and mayor pro tem were elected by their peers.
Councilmember Jeff Jennings, who was formerly mayor pro tem, is now mayor, and Councilmember Ken Kearsley was elected as mayor pro tem. Jennings has served several terms on the city council and Kearsley has been a member for two years.
At its Monday night meeting, the council directed staff to bring back a resolution denying the appeal of the Planning Commission’s decision to approve the construction of a road by developer Brian Sweeny above Sweetwater Mesa Road. The 20-foot wide, 1,669 foot long private access road would be located northeast of Sweetwater Mesa Road.
