St. Aidan’s Episcopal Church will hold its major fundraiser of the year on Sept. 23 from 4 to 8 p.m. with the Wine Tasting, Art & Music Festival.

Don McCrea, longtime church member and one of the hosts of the wine tasting, celebrates the McCrea family’s 54-year tradition of fine wine making with a selection of six fine wines from their Stoney Hill Vineyard of St. Helena in the Napa Valley. His wife, JoAnn, is also connected to the Chateau Margene family of vintners. The BearTrap Canyon Vineyard, among other local wineries, will present a variety of fine wines.

The church Vestry Committee will serve a selection of hors d’oeuvres and cheeses to the accompaniment of a variety of musicians; pianist, guitarist, vocalist and other local musical groups and jazz artists, including the Malibu High School Jazz Band.

An Art Walk is planned for parishioners and local artists to present their artwork, paintings and sculpture for sale, as well as donated works of art from the walls, studios and closets of parishioners and members of the community.

A silent auction of gift baskets, restaurant gift certificates and other unique art objects, as well as items such as a weekend at a vacation home; two tickets to a UCLA football game, tickets to the Kris Kristofferson concert at Pepperdine will be ongoing throughout the evening with winners announced at the close of the auction.

Proceeds from the event will go to fund the AIDS Luncheon at USC Hospital, Dorcas House, School on Wheels and St. Aidan’s youth group’s Sierra Service Project on Indian reservations. The tax-free ticket donation of $25 per person may be purchased at the church by calling 310.457.7966 or 805.402.0709. Childcare available. Free parking on grounds. The church is located at 28211 Pacific Coast Highway.
