Coastline peril

Human beings love the ocean. And sometimes we even love it to death. After watching hordes of people climbing all over the low tide rocks on Big Dume over last holiday weekend, bending over and scooping out every single living thing that they or their unsupervised children could possibly find, I believe a marine preserve on this incredible stretch of ocean could not happen quickly enough.

Education is key. Signs and volunteers informing the public of proper care of tide pools is essential. Loving the ocean is wonderful; killing it is not.
