Malibu United Methodist Church will be holding its 20th annual Thanksgiving Community Dinner on Thursday, Nov. 24, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., in partnership with Malibu Jewish Center & Synagogue. The event will service the Malibu Day Labor Workers and people in need throughout surrounding areas, and will be hosted at 30128 Morning View Drive.
Malibu Methodist is currently looking for volunteers to help decorate and set up the day before the dinner, as well as to serve food and drinks to guests, and to clean up at its closing.Â
Those interested in donating meals can drop off all cooked and prepared food at Malibu Methodist on Thanksgiving Day by 10 a.m. Food must be delivered hot; otherwise, it will not be accepted. Drinks, desserts, paper goods and decorations can be dropped off to the church the day before.
Toiletries and clothing donations are also currently being collected by the church to be distributed to the homeless, and acceptable items include: toothbrushes, toothpaste, shampoo, sunscreen, soap, warm jackets, sweatshirts, socks, t-shirts and blankets.Â
