Swazzle Puppet Company presented B.A.R.K. the robot dog at the Malibu Library on Monday afternoon. Children were mesmerized by the adventures of Rachet the Cat, Rivet the Dog and B.A.R.K. the robot dog.
After the performance, puppeteer Rachel Herrich demonstrated to the children the different types of puppets—rod puppets, hand puppets and the most difficult, yet versatile, the rod and hand puppets. The group had the opportunity to practice puppeteering moves with their hand which, combined with a sock, would make their very own sock puppet!
Children’s Librarian Leena Walker once again surprised the children with a gift of books and a stuffed animal of their choice at the end of this event.Â
After the puppet show, puppeteer Rachel Herrich had the children practice puppeteering with their hand, counting to 10 in both English and Spanish.
