Jillian Neuner presents a check to Dr. Noah Federman at the end of her coin-collecting fundraiser

Our Lady of Malibu School eighth-grade student and Student Council Vice President Jillian Neuner collected household coins to help fight pediatric cancer. After learning that a former schoolmate had been diagnosed with Ewing’s sarcoma, 13-year-old Neuner organized a coin drive fundraiser at her church and school. With support from her family, classmates and the community, Neuner raised more than $1,750 for pediatric cancer research, which beat her goal of $400.

Dr. Noah Federman accepted the donation from Neuner on behalf of the Jonsson Comprehensive Cancer Center. Neuner was assisted by her sister Jacquelyn and two classmates, Harry Culhane and Teresa Contino.
