The Malibu Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution had its fifth annual Colonial Cooking meeting on April 19. Members came in colonial costume.
The day began with the preparations, including building the fire according to colonial custum; sampling the wines, breads and cheeses; harvesting the herbs and tasting the different dishes accompanies by commentary from master chef Joannie Prather.
Due to the enthusiastic response to the cooking, tasting and preparing at this event, Malibu DAR has decided to publish a colonial cookbook due to come out in the fall. A party will take place at that time.
