Thank you, City of Malibu, for realizing that closing down Civic Center Way at Winter Canyon is not a viable solution to traffic concerns in that area. Will the powers that be please now consider a simple solution to the traffic problems in that area? Stop signs, pure and simple! It slows down traffic to a halt and allows cross traffic to safely cross without taking risks and allows traffic to slowly continue on without excessive congestion at the problematic intersection. If we really want to make things inconvenient for Z traffic and safe for Malibu residents then let’s put a 3-way stop, not only at Winter Canyon and Civic Center Way, but also at Civic Center Way and Vista Pacifica. I am a mother of two students at Webster Elementary and I cannot believe that this solution wasn’t considered first before a 6 month closure study. The stop signs are already in place. Let them stay and just remove the barricades. Simple.
