The Malibu Little League AAA (10-year-olds) Yankees team won, 15-4, against the Orioles on June 2. They compete Wednesday for the AAA championship game against Beverly Hills.
The Yankees’ team members are Costes Jensen, Chase Renzo, Caueh Carter, Gage Alger, Nikau Webb, Everette Briggs-Arce, Zachary Wiezorek, Nicholas Davis, Jackson Blair, Asher Baranick, Greyson Polatin and Sebastian Edwards. The team’s coaches are Mike Matuszak, Ben Renzo and Brian Pytlewski.
The majors-level Braves team faced Ladera in a single-elimination tournament of champions game held in Beverly Hills. A dominant, 70-miles-per-hour fastball from Ladera’s young female pitcher helped keep the score tied, 0-0, into the ninth inning, before Dominic Longo hit a walk-off homerun to win the game for Malibu.Â
