Pepperdine senior and Brazil native Guilherme Hadlich picked up his first win of the day against UCLA’s Joseph Di Giulio, but failed to advance to the semifinals after losing a point-for-point match against USC’s Logan Smith. Freshman Dane Esses and junior Nicholas Baez each competed in the singles back draw, but failed to secure the victories against their opponents.
The Waves are gearing up to compete in the SoCal Intercollegiate Championship hosted by UCLA this week.
