Malibu Bay Company owner Jerrold Perenchio contributed another $500,000 to the Yes on Proposition 32 campaign, according to a campaign disclosure report filed last Thursday. The donation brings his total contributions to the campaign to $750,000.
Perenchio is now second on the list of individual contributors to the campaign, behind Charles Munger Jr., who has given $873,000, The Sacramento Bee reported.
Proposition 32 is classified as “Political contributions by payroll deduction.” The “Yes on 32” campaign says the proposition “cuts the money ties between special interests and politicians.” The “No on 32” group says the proposition is misleading and “backed by wealthy special interests.”
