Fireman used retardant to put out a fire on a structure on Malibu Road Sunday.
The fire that started Sunday morning damaged the tower on the First Bank building at the Malibu Colony Shopping Plaza on Malibu Road and Pacific Coast Highway. Helicopters dropped water on the whole shopping plaza to contain any further damage.

David was an integral part of the General Plan Task Force that developed Malibu’s general plan. In the early years of Malibu cityhood, he was also a member of the Citizens’ Advisory Committee that discussed plans for the Malibu Civic Center, aided the City Council in the selection of a City Attorney, and met with County representatives in determining the feasibility of a sewer system in the Malibu area. The award was made during the County’s 43rd Annual Older Americans Recognition Day ceremonies.
