The Waves finished first Sunday after defeating tournament host, Redlands, and Claremont Mudd-Scripps in the four-game invitational, bringing their undefeated record to 6-0.
Only allowing their opponents to score no more than four goals, the Waves proved that they came with a mission to prevail in the early stages of the competition.
Mate Toth, Pepperdine freshman, was the big scorer of the series, putting up a season-high of five goals per match. Marko Asic assisted in scoring a five-goal game as well, racking up three of those goals in the second period while competing against Claremont.
Shortly after taking the tournament title home, the Waves prepare for their next battle against the top-ranked UCLA before traveling to their PCH Cup rival Loyola Marymount.Â
