New man in charge

Fred Samulon, a 30-year Malibu resident, was recently elected as board president for El Nido Family Centers, which serves more than 15,000 disadvantaged people with a variety of social services. In his role at Executive Service Corps of Southern California, Samulon is a management consultant for more than a dozen nonprofit organizations. He previously was a vice president and director with Citigroup for more than 20 years.

Samulon is the vice chair of the Los Angeles County Information Systems Commission and chair of the Los Angeles County Community Action Board. He serves on the board of Chamber Music Palisades.
