Runners take off at the sixth annual “Running of the Waves” on Saturday.

The sixth annual “Running of the Waves” 5K/10K run took place at Zuma Beach on Saturday, with more than  320 runners. The event, hosted by Pepperdine’s Graziadio Business School’s chapter of Challenge for Charity, benefits both the Special Olympics and the Children’s Lifesaving Foundation.

“Pepperdine C4C has been such a great, positive force for the Children’s Lifesaving Foundation,” CLF Founder and President Maria D’Angelo said in a press release. “Run the Malibu Waves Marathon has just continued to become more of a wonderful Malibu tradition with each passing year.”

The MBA Challenge for Charity organization has drawn on the talents, energy and resources of MBAs for the last 25 years, utilizing West Coast business schools to raise funds and volunteers for a multitude of charities.

The Children’s Lifesaving Foundation is a local nonprofit dedicated to transforming the lives of Los Angeles at-risk homeless youth and families, and has been running camps for at-risk and homeless youth in Malibu since 1993, in addition to its three other programs.
