After many months, the two public access gates to public property beach access at Broad Beach are still closed. An installation of cement stairways and railings has taken a ridiculously long time to complete and is still not finished. We are to believe that this is the reason the gates remain locked. The attempts by many of the property owners there to actively or passively block, discourage, delay, bully and otherwise prevent everyday citizens from properly and legally enjoying their beach continues.
We encourage civil disobedience. We now have Boulder Beach, which renders arguments about private property, public property and high tide lines moot since the boulders now sit atop that demarcation line. All of the remaining exposed sand is now public.
