Los Angeles County, in partnership with the U.S. Department of Homeland Security, Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), and California Governor’s Office of Emergency Services (CalOES), has opened a Disaster Assistance Center (DAC) in Malibu and another in Agoura Hills.
The Malibu DAC is located in the former Malibu Courthouse (23555 Civic Center Way), and provides a central location where people impacted by the fire can directly access government and nonprofit services to help recover and rebuild, including: registering for FEMA assistance, registering for Small Business Administration (SBA) assistance, debris removal and rebuilding permitting information, housing assistance and referrals for further help. The DAC is open Monday through Thursday, 1:00 PM to 8:00 PM, Friday and Saturday, 10:00 AM to 6:00 PM, and is closed on Sundays and holidays.
Malibu Library providing communication assistance
The Malibu Library (23519 West Civic Center Way) is also assisting the DAC by providing laptops, public PCs, WiFi and space in the community meeting room.
