One person was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence Friday night at a Malibu checkpoint, while 25 more were arrested on various other offenses.Â
The checkpoint was set up at Pacific Coast Highway and Webb Way. One of the other arrests included a person wanted for a prior DUI warrant.
Fifteen unlicensed drivers were arrested and sent to court and eight were arrested and sent to court for driving on suspended licenses.Â
“A major component of these checkpoints are the deterrent effects it has on those who might drive drunk or drugged impaired, bringing about more awareness and encouraging everyone to use sober designated drivers,” the L.A. County Sheriff’s Department wrote in a press release.
