As of July 1, the Malibu Library will be open eight additional hours each week. The new hours will be:
Monday: 10-8
Tuesday: 10-8
Wednesday: 10-8
Thursday: 10-6
Friday: 9-5
Saturday: 9-5
Sunday: 1-5
In order to increase services and resources, as well as eliminate issues with library access, the LA County Library is increasing its annual open hours by 15,000 across service areas, according to information provided by the LA County Library. With the implementation of more efficient staffing models, the expansion of hours will not increase operating costs. Beginning July 1, 75 out of 87 community libraries will have expanded their hours.
“We understand that libraries have evolved and are being used by our customers in different ways. We wanted to ensure that our doors were open and staff was available to provide service that is needed in our communities,” said County Library Director Skye Patrick, according to a County Library press release.
