The sweet smell of cupcakes wafted through the Malibu Library as kids gathered for the Summer Discovery program — cupcake decorating class, hosted by The Friends of The Malibu Library (FOML) last Wednesday afternoon.

Kids were offered both traditional and gluten free cupcakes, baked fresh from Sweet Arleen’s Bakery in Westlake Village, three-time champion of Food Network’s Cupcake Wars.

Frosting, icing and an array of colorful fondant were at their fingertips to create a cupcake masterpiece. Once done, kids gobbled up the finished product

“The library staff always does a terrific job of organizing the activities, and it’s such a joy to see new faces and welcome back loyal repeat attendees,” FOML Treasurer Yvonne Tang shared.

Malibu Library’s Summer Discovery Program:  Reading by Design has a wide variety of activities for children of all ages.
