The Malibu Optimist Club honored three Malibu High School students as the winners of this year’s Optimist Essay Contest, with the theme, “The Power of Youth.” A record number of entries were received this year. The judges, Neil Armstrong, June August, Audra Quinn and Brian Walton, evaluated 80 essays. The first, second and third place winners were awarded savings bonds of $500, $300 and $200.
