It’s finally time to take out those fall sweaters—even if it’s just for the weekend.
Malibu will be experiencing some chilly weather this weekend with temperatures dropping down to 69 on Friday, according to The Weather Channel. Friday night will be mostly clear with a few clouds and a low of 54.
Saturday is forecasted to be partly cloudy and 61 with mostly clear skies and a low of 50 at night.
Sunday will also see partly cloudy skies with a high of 66 and clear skies at night with a low of 55.
The chillier weather has come just in time for some notable events happening in Malibu this weekend.
Friday:
The Pepperdine University Fine Arts Division will present its Fall Musical, a new production of Boublil and Schonberg’s “Les Miserables,” at Pepperdine University Smothers Theatre. The performances will take place November 15-17 at 7:30 p.m. with additional performances on November 21-23.
Local Malibu designers will team up with Point Dume Marine Science School for a holiday boutique located in the school’s library at 8 a.m.
MUSE School is Calabasas will host a MUSEtalk sponsored by Karney Hatch at 6 p.m.
There will be a youth and teen comedy show hosted by The City of Malibu and the Young Actors Project at the Malibu City Hall, Civic Theater at 7 p.m.
Saturday:
The Native American Basketry Show takes place on both Saturday, Nov. 16 and Sunday, Nov. 17 at the Santa Monica Mountains Interagency Visitor Center beginning at 9:30 a.m. Native American art expert Terry DeWald will lecture on Native American Basketry on Saturday.
Monarch Estates & Homes hosts a Malibu winter wonderland at the Civic Center Parking Lot at 11 a.m., complete with snow sledding, snowman building and snowball contests.
Sunday:
Jeff McElroy posts up at Bank of Books in Malibu at 2 p.m. to read and sign his “surf noir” short story collection “Californios.”
