Malibu resident and Cornucopia Foundation Board member Julie Carmen helped organize “Malibu Gets Healthy,” an opportunity for residents to hear health care professionals speak about medical issues. It will take place on Oct. 3 at the Malibu Farmers Market in the Civic Center.

A licensed marriage and family therapist, Hoffman will begin the line-up of free talks at 10:30 a.m. Hoffman has a private psychotherapy practice at Primary Caring in Malibu. She worked as the JFS counselor at Juan Cabrillo Elementary School and was the drama therapist at Passages Malibu and the yoga therapist at Monte Nido Eating Disorder Center.

Other speakers will include Balance With Horses Equine Therapists Dr. Vallerie Coleman, Amy Pulitzer, MFTi & horse; and a presentation by Dr. Francine Vogler, founder and medical director of AIRescue International. She will talk about “Traveling Safely in a Dangerous World.” Members of Malibu Healing Center; 5 Point Yoga and The Counseling Resource Center of Agoura will also have booths.
