Forecast for Feb. 24 – March 9

By Cortney Litwin / Special to The Malibu Times

During late February through early March, the Jupiter-Pluto square will rattle the status quo concerning religious beliefs, economies and personal freedoms, as evident in the political strife in the Middle East and struggles with federal and state budgets in the U.S. On a personal level, those with placements in early Aries, Cancer, Libra or Capricorn may feel pushed to change an entrenched attitude, habit or belief. In the meantime, intuitive guidance, healing and philanthropy get a boost from several Pisces influences, including the sun-Mercury conjunction on Feb. 25, the new moon on March 4 and the Mercury-Uranus conjunction on March 8. The latter especially favors innovative discussions concerning health care, technology and natural resources. As for socializing, Venus in Aquarius from March 1-25 energizes friendly gatherings, networking and group projects. Then Mercury in Aries from March 9-May 14 energizes groundbreaking ideas and personal self-expression.

If you know your rising sign from your time of birth, read that too.

Aries (March 21-April 19)

Jupiter in your sign colliding with Pluto can produce a conflict between what you want and someone or something that seems to have control over the outcome. Instead of battling the immovable object, seek out a different route to your goal.

Taurus (April 20-May 20)

An unconscious desire or issue, perhaps pertaining to your spiritual life, aspirations or education, may be awakened during the next few weeks. Friends will assist you after the new moon, which brings a new cycle of socializing.

The urge to expand and use your knowledge may prompt a change (or at least a review) of your work. Also, an awakening of your spiritual life can inspire you to use your knowledge to help those in need.

Virgo (Aug. 23-Sept. 22)

Eliminating unneeded material stuff and healing emotional issues will empower your ability to move forward now. It’s time to let go and move on. And the new moon energizes shared activities with your mate or business partner.

You may start to experience some growing pains in your primary relationship that prompts you to analyze not only your family life, but childhood issues that contribute to the strive within your current and past relationships.

Scorpio (Oct. 23-Nov. 21)

Your Pluto ruler squaring Jupiter can eject you out of your comfort zone by challenging a long-held belief about yourself. What stops you from fully utilizing your talents? It’s time to evaluate your direction, especially concerning your work or health.

Sagittarius (Nov. 22-Dec. 21)

Your Jupiter ruler battling Pluto can produce an extreme reaction or power struggle in the area of romance, money or children. Strive to see the bigger picture of the issue. On the plus side, this influence will intensify your creativity.
