Marion “Gabriella” Grahek, a graduating senior at Malibu High school, received the Philanthropic Educational Organization (P.E.O.) Star Scholarship for the 2013-2014 academic year from the PEO Chapter NL of Los Angeles. Heidi Amundson and Margaret Hess presented the scholarship at MHS’ awards ceremony.
Grahek will attend the Minerva Schools at Keck Graduate Institute as part of the founding class. She plans to study international development. The $2,500 P.E.O. Scholarship was awarded based on excellence in leadership, extracurricular activities, community service, academics and potential for future success. The program is open to young women who are graduating seniors at the time of application.
