Our Lady of Malibu on May 17 celebrated the 50th anniversary of its Catholic school with a grand party. Attendees included families and individuals connected to the school’s past and present.
The evening began with a mass, followed by cocktails and mingling. Guests browsed several long tables full of auction items, which included sports memorabilia, music and movie posters and projects from each grade in the school, kindergarten to eighth grade.
A three-course dinner was coupled with an awards ceremony, where Monsignor John Sheridan, Darlene Reid and the Sisters of St. Louis were honored with awards presented by co-principals Suzanne Ricci and Edie O’Brien. Sheridan received a standing ovation for his service to the parish and school.
A video of the school, which includes interviews with major figures past and present and students, was shown and items were auctioned off, with proceeds supporting the school.
