A 56-year-old bicyclist was hit by a car while riding on Pacific Coast Highway on Saturday morning. He was taken to Los Robles Hospital to be treated for multiple abrasions.

At 9:35 a.m. Dec. 1, the Santa Monica resident was cycling on PCH about half a mile north of Webb Way when the driver of a Chevy pickup truck lost control of his vehicle on the wet pavement and swerved into the shoulder, striking the bicyclist, according to Malibu/Lost Hills Traffic Sgt. Philip Brooks. The 39-year-old driver stopped right away to help the cyclist, who was then transported to the hospital. Deputies determined that the driver, who is from Malibu, was traveling at an unsafe speed when he hit the cyclist. The accident is currently under investigation.
