Are you and your family prepared for El Niño-induced weather? The City of Malibu is hosting a free presentation on Sunday, Dec. 12, to inform residents on how to be prepared for heavy rains, thunderstorms, mudslides and flooding that may occur as a result of El Niño this winter.

“El Niño is Coming: Are You Prepared?” will discuss how the City of Malibu and other government agencies are preparing, how to create family emergency plans, and how to prepare homes and properties in the event of extreme weather.

Representatives from the Federal Emergency Management Agency, insurance industry, L.A. County Fire Department and Malibu Public Works Department will be featured, along with Malibu Emergency Services Coordinator Brad Davis.

The presentation will begin at 10 a.m. at Malibu City Hall and RSVPs are required. For more information, call 310.456.2489.
