On Nov. 22, local boy scout Macon McIntyre, with help from Troop 775, completed his Eagle Scout Project by painting the white walls of the Mayhugh Center at Malibu United Methodist Church. McIntyre supervised a group of around 12 boys and four adults from his troop, as well as members from Troops 756 and 224. They were able to complete the project before the Thanksgiving Dinner for People in Need, hosted annually by MUMC and the Malibu Jewish Center at the church.

McIntyre has been involved with Boy Scouts since fifth grade. He has participated in several local service organizations, including the Harry Barovsky Memorial Youth Commission, the Young Actors Project and For the Troops.Â
