Thanks for your excellent coverage of the Malibu Green Machine’s Median Enhancement project on PCH. One correction, and one comment! Your headline said, “After years of fundraising and planning…” The idea for the Green Machine was hatched in January, 2005, and we hosted our first fun-raiser on St. Patrick’s Day, 2006. Although we’re succeeding in our mission, next January we celebrate our second year.
Your headline also read, “PCH median to get a touch of Copacabana.” Although an element of the design was used in Brazil in the 1930s, Burton Sperber has re-invented this hardscape to honor the Malibu waves. I respectfully suggest that a more current interpretation of Sperber’s wonderful wavy blue design would be, “PCH median to get a touch of the Malibu waves.”
