Around 2,500 bicycle riders will be making their way through Malibu as part of a seven-day bike ride, AIDS/LifeCycle 2018, on Saturday, June 9.

The City of Malibu has not handed out any permits for the event, but motorists should exercise caution and are encouraged to share the road with participants.

Put on by the Los Angeles LGBT Center and the San Francisco AIDS Foundation, the bike ride “is designed to advance their shared interest to reduce new HIV infections and improve the quality of life for people living with HIV/AIDS,” according to the event’s website. Riders started on June 3 in Santa Cruz; on the seventh and final day of the ride, they will start at 6:30 a.m. at San Buenaventura State Beach in Ventura and make their way to the finish line at Grand Park in downtown Los Angeles.
