Malibu resident Rex Garland has been awarded a National Merit Scholarship. Garland graduates from Viewpoint School this spring and plans to attend Stanford University in the fall.
Aside from academic achievements, he plays the piano, runs cross-country, is an active Eagle Scout, and has attended summer medical programs at Cambridge University and Harvard University.
