A police chase that began in Hollywood on Wednesday night ended on Pacific Coast Highway in Malibu, near the Ventura County Line.
A male driver was taken into custody after leading the LA Police Department on a nearly three-hour chase in a black BMW, which was allegedly stolen. The chase began at 6:45 p.m. and wound through parts of Hollywood, West L.A., Santa Monica and, finally, Malibu.Â
TV footage showed the driver recklessly crossing through busy intersections and traveling on sidewalks. He eventually got onto the 10 freeway heading westbound until traveling onto Pacific Coast Highway. He was finally apprehended by authorities at approximately 9:30 p.m. after police surrounded the vehicle. The suspect surrendered peacefully.
